Memorial service for Danny "Truckie" Murphy, 69, will be at 1 p.m. today (Thurs., Aug. 4, 2016) at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Jim Hill and Roy Rothmire.
Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
The family invites friends to a visitation at Vernost Wine Wed. Aug. 3, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. Danny was born Jan. 23, 1947 in Enid to James L. and Wanda Mae Sturgeon Murphy and died Thurs., July 28, 2016 at his home in Hennessey. Danny graduated from Hennessey High School in 1965 and attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee. He was a contract pumper. He married Cindy McCallister.
Danny is survived by his wife, Cindy of the home; two daughters, Anna Grace and husband Michael of Hennessey, Alieta Surface and husband David of Saginaw, Texas; five grandsons, Tyler Guffey and wife Bryann, Logan Surface, Lane Surface, Nicholas Surface, Benjamin Surface; two granddaughters, Dacie Guffey, Emma Grace; one sister, Jana Wright and husband Wesley; one brother, Jim Murphy and wife Penny of Hennessey; three greatgrandchildren, Cameron, Madi, Kenzi; nephew Jeff Murphy; nieces Melissa Cloud, Cristin Ashcraft and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, James Scott Murphy. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
