Donald David Murphy

Donald David Murphy
April 18, 1953 ~ February 18, 2024

Medford - Donald David Murphy was born on April 18, 1953 in Maryville, Missouri to Flavel Murphy and Mary Beth {Mohler} Murphy. Don passed from this life on February 18, 2024 at his home in Medford. Don moved to Medford in 2005 from Bedford, Iowa. He married Carolyn Conaway on May 21, 2005.

Don was a farmer in Bedford for many years with crops of corn, soybeans, oats, and hay. He had livestock that included cattle, sheep and hogs. He then moved to Des Moines, Iowa and worked at Pirelli Armstrong as a forklift driver. He later worked hauling freight for J & J Delivery and was able to see much of the United States and was lucky enough Carolyn was able to travel some with him in the truck.

Don was a super fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was quick-witted and would make you laugh at inopportune times. He loved his grandkids.

Don is preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Murphy and Bill Murphy; his parents, Flavel and Mary Beth Murphy, and nephew, Jay Murphy.

His survivors include his wife, Carolyn Murphy; his children, Sue Ware and husband, Sam, Linda Foster, James Webb and wife, Diana, Stacy Hartwell and husband, David, and Matt Murphy; grandchildren, Maggie Ray and Theo Murphy, Kane and wife, Kerry Ellenwood, Kaci Ellenwood and boyfriend, Taylor Jones, Shane Ware and wife, Ali, Trea Brakey, Jimmy Brakey, Mike Brakey, Kylie Hutchison, Robert Webb, Delana Payne, Grace and Logan Hartwell; great grandchildren, Koen Ellenwood, Austin and Reagan Ware, Stormy and Hazel Brakey, Carizma and Cerinaty Combs, Royce and LeLani Webb, Ethan Webb and Harmony Hare; brothers, Tom Murphy and wife, Susan; Jerry Murphy and wife, Teresa; sister, Anne Raphael; nephew, (like a brother) Billy Murphy and wife, Melissa. Don is also survived by his loyal dog, Cash.

Memorial services for Don will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Medford.

Memorial services for Iowa family and friends will be Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Bedford, Iowa at 1:00 p.m.
