Jimmy D. Murdock, resident of the Shawnee/Dale area, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was 82 years old.
Jimmy was born on December 15, 1939 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma to his parents, James and Ella Murdock. Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors whether he was tending to his vegetable garden, hunting, fishing, or practicing archery. He bowled in various leagues and golfed in the Oklahoma Indian Golf Association. Jimmy also raised chickens and would give the eggs to people who needed them. He was a hard worker who completed every task to the fullest.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ella Murdock, brothers, James Edward Murdock, Charles Murdock, and Freddie Murdock, sisters, Wanda, Betty (B. J.), Carolyn, and JoAnne, sons, Jimmy Dewayne, Jr. and Freddie H. Murdock, great-granddaughter, Jamie D. Murdock, and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Retha Murdock, children, Charles Nelson Murdock and wife Jodi of Shawnee, sisters, Katherine Murdock of Shawnee and Sue Murdock of McLoud, grandchildren, James, Heather, Mike, Chelsea, and Mercedes, nine great-grandchildren, his adopted Kickapoo family and three dogs that he loved.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, December 14th from 2-7pm. A funeral ceremony will be held at the Walker Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10:00 am.
