Jane (Suggett) Munger
1922 ~ June 5, 2015

Jane Suggett Munger passed away peacefully and joined her heavenly father Friday, June 5, 2015. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow to allow visit with family.

Jane Suggett Munger, was born in Fulton, Mo., in 1922 to John W. and Doris D. Suggett.

Pursuing a new business opportunity, the family moved to Enid, Okla., in 1934. After graduating from Enid High School, she attended Christian College for one year in Columbia, Mo., and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma. While at OU, she enjoyed being a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated with degrees in education and home economics, with the academic distinction of Phi Beta Kappa.

Immediately upon graduation in 1943, she married Garrison Everett Munger Jr. When he completed his service in the U.S. Navy in WWII, they returned to Enid to make their home. She was an enthusiastic partner and supporter of Garrys various Enid civic activities, and they enjoyed a busy social life together. They were married for 64 years until his death in 2007.

While raising their four children, she volunteered for many local organizations and served on the governing boards of the YMCA, the first board at Enid Speech and Hearing Center, and St. Marys Hospital board. She was an active member of Junior Welfare League. She treasured her 50-year membership in Chapter Q of PEO, while serving in many officer positions, and also maintained a 50-year membership in Delta Delta Delta.

As a 60-year member of First Presbyterian Church, she was committed to teaching and the music ministries of the church, as well as leadership roles in Presbyterian Women.

An accomplished pianist, she always could be counted on to provide accompaniment to individuals and groups and encouraged music in her home.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Keller and husband Ed, Margaret Wright, Ann Fleming and husband Zane, and John Munger. Grandchildren include Griff Jones and wife Mindi, Meredith Wright, Elizabeth Paul and husband Chris, Sarah Weisgarber and husband Eric, Drue Diesselhorst and husband Matt, and Alex Munger. Great-grandchildren are Kennedy and Kale Jones, Kassidy Paul, Jack and Beau Weisgarber, Emery, Beth, and Jenny Nate Diesselhorst. Very special additional grandchildren are Kyle Keller and his wife Chaunsea and children Kinzi and Kemper. Also Courtney Davis, husband Jeremy and children Keller and Ruby. Her parents and her grandson, Nate Fleming, precede Jane in death.

Her faith and sincere interest in others touched the hearts of all who knew her. The family thanks all the friends who enhanced her life with continual support and attention and especially Terry Dennis, Tammy Unruh and Betty Rains, whose exceptional daily care of her was so appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enid Salvation Army, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home as custodian of funds. Condolences may be made to the family at www.Brown- Cummings.com.
