Diana Maryla (Willingham) Muir

Diana Maryla (Willingham) Muir
April 01, 1948 ~ June 11, 2019

Diana Maryla Muir, age 71, of Purcell, OK went home to be with her lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 after a brief illness. Diana was born April 1, 1948, in Fulton, Kentucky. She was the oldest of two children born to R. B. Willingham and Mary Ann (Rooney) Willingham. Diana grew up in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Kecaughtan High School in 1966. She later married John Tillie and together they raised two daughters, Deanna and Kristina. She lived in various states before moving to the Houston, Texas area.

Diana worked hard as a homemaker and as a floral designer. While living in Houston, she worked for Michael’s, Amber’s and later Randall’s Grocery as a floral designer. While living in Texas, Diana met and fell in love with Jerry Muir. They were married on Nov. 25, 1995 in Houston. For a number of years, Diana and Jerry owned and operated their own wedding chapel and floral design called “Muir Wedding Gardens”. She even published a book on “How to Budget the Perfect Wedding”.

In 2004, Diana and Jerry moved to the Purcell and Maysville area to be close to her daughters. It wasn’t long before Diana became a member of the Purcell First Baptist Church. Diana was a faithful Christian and loved children. For many years she taught 3rd and 4th grade Sunday school, sang in the church choir. She was involved in Christmas programs, Vacation Bible School, Fall Festivals events and helping with church decorations.

One of Diana’s favorite hobbies was doing macramé, spoiling her dogs, feeding her outdoor wild birds and going camping with Jerry and their friends from church. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
