August 19, 1964 ~ September 24, 2022 (age 58)

Steven “Steve” P. Morton, 58, lifelong resident of Bethel Acres passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was born August 19, 1964 to Freddie Paul and Linda Kay (Yoder) Morton in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Steve was raised in Bethel Acres where he attended and graduated from Bethel Public Schools with the Class of 1982. Steve was a committed baseball player and a proud member of the FFA chapter serving as President.

He married his soulmate Cassie Wortham on June 13, 1987 at Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Although they were married 35 short years, their love was never ending.

Steve worked alongside his dad in the family owned business A-1 Rooter Service; and after the passing of his dad he continued to carry on the family business.

He loved fishing, gardening, collecting antiques, spending time at the lake, and playing with his grandsons. His proudest accomplishment in life was becoming sober; Steve would have celebrated 18 years of sobriety on October 21st.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Linda Kay Morton; mother-in-law, Roberta Wortham; and nephew, Ryan Robbins.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Cassie Morton of the home; 2 sons, Aaron Morton of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Jericho Morton of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 1 daughter and 1 son-in-law, Stormie and Bradley Sullivan of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma; 3 grandsons, Silas Morton, Cruz Morton and Castin Sullivan; 2 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Paula and Stephen Robbins of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, and Shelly and Kevin Sawyer of McGregor, Texas; father-in-law, L.D. Wortham of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 1 brother-in-law and 1 sister-in-law, Lance and Renee Wortham of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Oklahoma City St. Anthony Pavilion ICU 4th floor nursing staff for their outstanding care and support. Along with Dr. Chad Glenn, Dr. Salman Zubair, Dr. Ahmed Cheema, and Maggie Troxell for never giving up the fight alongside him.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue through service. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK with Phil Thompson officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

The family request in lieu of flowers to make donations in honor of his best buddy Corki to ARC Rescue, 1530 N. Harrison, Box 135, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
