Nancy Carolene Morton, aka Nanny, gained eternal life at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, December 10, 2021 in Macomb, OK.
Nancy was born March 9, 1954 to Leoma and Isaac McBroom in Topeka, KS.
She wed Dale R. Morton on June 7, 1974 and they resided in Shawnee so they could begin to make a family. She was blessed with only one child of her own, but adopted 4 more later on. Nancy and Dale were married for 47 ½ years.
Nancy worked for the State of Oklahoma in home health care as a provider caring for people for many years. She opened Tecumseh Kids Daycare in 2003.
She cared for numerous foster kids in her time. Nancy had many interests including; gardening, watching and feeding the birds, garage sales, doing puzzles, and sitting on her front porch sharing stories and watching her grandchildren.
Nancy was loved and cherished by many. She was The Great Nanny! One of her greatest joys was holding and caring for babies and children. She was involved with her church in the nursery and brought light upon the faces of all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Terry McBroom and Larry McBroom and one sister.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dale Morton of Macomb; son and daughter in law, Cameron and Ashley Morton of Macomb, son, Doug Morton of Konawa; daughter, Michelle Wallace of California, daughter, Ashley Morton of Asher; son, Nathaniel Morton of Macomb; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Marilyn nd Don Black of Asher; brother, Isaac McBroom of Wanette, brother, Donald and Joyce McBroom of Byars; sister, Linda and David Morton of Tecumseh; brother, William McBroom of Shawnee; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Revive Church, Tecumseh, with Anthony Legrange officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
