Dean Moore, 66 year old Woodward businessman, died Saturday, January 25, 2014. Memorial funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH of Woodward with Reverend Charlie Bauman and Reverend John Curtis officiating. The Billings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ralph Dean Moore was born on April 10, 1947 in Laverne at the family homestead to Luther Willard and Florence Beulah (Murphy) Moore. Dean attended high school in Laverne graduating with the class of 1965. He completed barber college that same year. Dean was a barber in Woodward for many years.
Dean was united in marriage to Angie Baxley on October 13, 2012 in Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Woodward.
He had many hobbies which included many hours involved with Kids Inc. Dean served as a referee and coach for basketball and umpiring baseball games. He was also a Kids Inc. Board member. Dean loved square dancing and was a member of the Woodward Wranglers. He was a flagman for car races at Crystal Beach and go cart races held Northwest of Woodward. Dean loved playing Texas Hold’em with his friends and giving quarters to little children.
He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church.
Dean was active in Moose Lodge, JayCees, and Woodward Ambucs. He found most of his enjoyment in life from his family, mostly his grandkids and his inherited grandkids. He enjoyed sharing stories about his childhood with them.
Dean is survived by his wife Angie of the home; one daughter, April Ragan and husband Brad of Woodward, inherited daughter, Stephanie Scott; five brothers, George Moore and wife Doris; Harold Moore and wife Janeth; Richard Moore and wife Fran; Dillard Moore and wife Diane; Luther Moore and wife Leah; seven grandchildren, T’erra McGuire; Travin Ragan; Cody Scott; Cadynce Scott; Elizabeth Wilson; Levi Wilson; McKenna Brooks; and one great-grandchild; Maylee Brooks. Dean is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, DeeAnn; second wife, Terressa; granddaughter, Makinze McGuire; parents, brother, Alfred Moore; sister-in-law, Suk Nyun.
