Jayden Matthew Moore, a life taken too soon passed away on December 25, 2020 at the age of 20. Jayden Matthew Moore came into this world as Donnell Edwin Johnson Jr. on November 17,2000. He was born to Tangula Worthy and Donnell Edwin Johnson Sr. He spent his first years surrounded by and adored by his biological family including his two younger sisters who were born as Joycelyn and Ariel.
In 2010 the three of them met their forever home with Hezra Moore and they became part of her family. DJ’s big smile, charm and funny side was known to everyone from the very beginning they met him. DJ was athletic and charming. He excelled at football and baseball. We will never forget his 80-yard run touchdown. He was like lightening on that field. Any sport- he and Eli and Isaiah competed to be the best. DJ was a complex, deep thinking, deep feeling human. Stubborn, but loyal to those he loved. He had a hot temper and rough edges but soft side to babies, animals, and those he loved. DJ had an amazing sense of humor. He clowned around, pranked people and had the best laugh.
DJ he was preceded in death by his family, Grandpa Willis McClour, and his big brother Elijah Moore.
DJ is survived by his mom, Hezra Moore and his siblings Riley Moore, Olivia Moore, Cadence Moore, Isaiah Moore, Moriah Moore and Hannah Moore. Also, his grandma Sue McClour and uncles Joe, and Paul McClour. And aunt Sheila Eggenberg. There are several cousins and more friends than we can list on one page that loved him like family.
On DJ’s biological family he is preceded in death by his grandma Kathy and Grandpa Vincent Pradia.
On DJ’s biological family he is survived by his Mama Tangula Worthy, Sisters: Abigail and Angelica Traylor. Auntie: Tamara Worthy, Tiffany Worthy, and Tanekia Johnson Cousins: Tomaria Jones, Tiera Salter, Tangula Warren, and Tashandra Warren, Grandpa CW Phillips, also by father, Donnell Johnson Sr..
A special thank you to Ms. Meco Dawkins for caring for him in foster care.
Please Keep all of DJ’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as we cope with this senseless tragedy and keep searching for truth and justice. As Hezra said with Eli’s funeral as well- never ever give up on the good in this world no matter the ugly we’ve seen and known.
