Jerry Ward Moore

July 9, 1952 ~ May 12, 2012

On a hot summer day, Joe Freeman and Winona (Noni) Ann Moore welcomed a new baby boy to their home in Ada, Oklahoma. Jerry Ward Moore was born July 9, 1952. Although he moved around quite a lot, when he was younger he set his roots in Enid Oklahoma and it was there that he relinquished his hold on this realm on May 12, 2012.

Jerry will be remembered for his gregarious laugh and laid-back attitude. Although he had a rough-looking exterior, he had a truly kind heart and would help a person in need, with little regard for himself.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving mother, Winona, his older brother Murl and his favorite ex-wife, Judy Kay (whom he nicknamed Dude).

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Teri Grady and her significant other Lester Gross, of Wagoner, Oklahoma. Two grandchildren, Danielle Grady and David Grady, both of Coweta. And eight more grandchildren that all came as package deals. His father, Freeman Moore of Enid Oklahoma. Two younger brothers, Charlie Moore with his wife Renee, of Hunter Oklahoma. Randy Moore of Florence, Texas. And a younger sister, JoAnn Moore of Enid Oklahoma. Several nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family, and countless people that he claimed as friends and very special ex-sister-in-law, Sandy Moore of Kremlin, OK.

Jerry was loved and cherished by many and few will ever forget his infectious laugh, his love of life, or the fact that he lived and left this life making “Long-Haired Country Boy” by Charlie Daniels his theme song.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home
