De Ette Moon, age 85, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024.

A memorial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday July 1, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 200 S Sixth Street, Ponca City, OK 74601, with Pastor Leon Veazey officiating. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 9:45 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

De Ette Marie Scheeler Moon was born on July 20, 1938, to Robert Cecil Scheeler and Goldie De Ette Marie Freburg Scheeler, in Kearney, Nebraska. The family moved to Bartlesville, OK, where De Ette graduated from high school. She married James Gordon Moon, and had three children: Steffi Marie Moon, Marseille Louella Moon, and Lisa Renee Moon. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her children, being involved in politics, growing flowers, and was an avid reader. Later, she was politically involved with activities as a supporter to Oklahoma constituents.

De Ette was active in church and choir, and loved to sing. She built community within her prayer groups. God surrounded her with love through close friends developed in Bible Studies. She was passionate about reading books about end of time topics by Jonathan Cahn and Randy Kay’s near death experience and life.

She graduated from Oklahoma State University and worked as an interior designer in Enid, OK. She was a legal secretary in Ponca City, OK. When she lived in Tulsa, OK, De Ette worked as a secretary, participated in church, and enjoyed kick boxing.

She is survived by her daughters: Steffi Cowan (Spouse-Geoff), Ponca City, OK; Marseille Moon, Dallas, TX; Lisa Adams, Cedar Park, TX; Grandchildren: Sarah Hraban (Spouse-Brian) children Aedan, Eli, Noah, Isaac, Billings, MT; Jennifer Daniel (Spouse-Jake) children Amelia and Asher, Ponca City, OK; Christy Yousefi (Spouse-Elias) children Austin and Alex, Montgomery, AL; Zachary May (Spouse-Alejandra) Bozeman, MT; and Andrea Renz (Spouse-Mike) Wheat Ridge, CO; Collin Nowak (Spouse-Lizzie) children Mia, Zoe, and Ava, Austin, TX; and Lauren Buchanan (Spouse-James) son Duncan, Austin, TX; Sisters: Sherry Vanscoyoc, McKinney, TX; Bobbie Brown, Greenwood, MO; Aunt Barbara Kimberly (97 yrs) - Hillsboro, OR (the only one left of this generation); Cousins: Beth Kimberly - Portland, OR, Richard Jarvis - Loxahatchee, FL, Jerri McLaughlin - Celebration, FL, Bob Stearley - Edgewood, NM, Cathy Stearley - Tulsa, OK, Kay Triplett - Belleview, NE, Roger Brandt - Weatherford, TX, Gary Brandt - Runaway Bay, TX, Linda Crandall - Kearney, NE, Debbi Blunt - Bella Vista, AR, Becky Poole - Frisco, TX, Daniel Philip Brown, Scott Edward Brown, Steven Glen Brown, and Julie Kay Brown Long.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Gordon Moon (they were married from 1954-1976); Parents-Robert and Goldie Scheeler; and Brother-Daniel Scheeler.
