Eileen Haley Monger
August 31, 1931 ~ November 3, 2024

Celebration of Life services for Eileen Haley Moger, 93, of Pryor, will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Pryor. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor.

Eileen Haley Monger was born on August 31, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at her home in Pryor at the age of 93.

Eileen was the youngest of four children born to Albert and Pauline (Branigan) Haley. She was raised on a farm in Jones, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school. After graduating, she attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, which is now known as Oklahoma State University, where she met Floyd O’Dell Monger. The two fell in love and created a beautiful family together that included two children, daughter, Candy and son, Tracy. Their family expanded over the years with 7 foster children and they lived in Pawhuska. Eileen was warm and kind and was known as a person you could go to for guidance and wisdom.

O’Dell took over Monger Brothers Auto Parts, his father’s business, and he and Eileen worked together to grow it into a very successful business in Pawhuska as well as stores in Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Oklahoma City.

She and O’Dell were devout members of the Church of Christ in Bartlesville. She was also very active in her community. She was a 50 year member of the HEEKO Club in Pawhuska and was instrumental in restoring the old “haunted” Constantine Theater in downtown Pawhuska. She enjoyed all kinds of art, whether it be listening to music, enjoying theater, painting, sculpting or other mediums. She was also very appreciative of nature and seeing the beauty of God’s art and loved incorporating it into her decorating style.

Eileen loved to entertain and spend time with friends and family. She and O’Dell loved to travel and they did so all over the world. From Europe to the Middle East, Zimbabwe, Australia, Hawaii and more, they loved trekking the globe together and had amazing adventures together. They met many people through their travels, some of who became friends they would visit and stay in each other’s homes. She also enjoyed reading, writing stories, decorating and leading bible study.

After retiring, O’Dell and Eileen moved to Pryor, Oklahoma to be closer to their daughter, Candy and her family. They attended the Church of Christ in Chouteau for a time and then landed at the Church of Christ in Pryor where they made their church home.

Eileen spent her life as a gracious and beautiful lady who committed her life to doing for others. She was creative, sweet, kind, giving and loved encouraging others and lifting them up.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her son Tracy, her husband O’Dell, her sister Jane and her brother Sid.

She is survived and warmly remembered by her daughter Candy McBride and husband Judge Terry McBride of Pryor; her grandson Chase McBride and Wife Rachel of Owasso; two great granddaughters, Hayden and Charli of Owasso; her sister Norma, and her “step” grandson, Jefferson McBride and wife Tammy and their children, Brooke and Kyle. She is also survived by an extended family, Kathy Swan, Amalia Landeros, Cindy Bell and her special church family at the Church of Christ in Pryor.
