Ada May Mitchell, 95, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, died on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital in Medicine Lodge.
She was born on June 25, 1923, near Medicine Lodge, Kansas, the daughter of Walter Lillieqvist and Matilda (Kumberg) Lillieqvist. On December 26, 1948, she married James D. Mitchell in Medicine Lodge. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1993.
Ada was a member of the United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, the Self Culture Club, the Monday Afternoon Club and the Pitch Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Marty (Mike) Dooley of Haysville, Kansas, and Carol Welsh of Bethel, Maine; eight grandchildren, Robin, Raelyn, Amber, John, Laura, Tyson, Coy and Jodi; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera Hanneken of Palm Desert, California; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; one son, Robert Mitchell; one brother, Lucky Lillieqvist; and three sisters, Laurene Johnson, Pearl Baker and Corlena Hunt.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, Kansas, with Pastor Paul Stephens officiating. Inurnment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
