Richard G. Minor

Richard G. Minor
August 30, 1935 ~ December 20, 2015

Richard G. Minor, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma and beloved father and grandfather passed from this life on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the age of 80.

He was born August 30, 1935 in Rocheport, Missouri to Charles Edwin and Loula Mae Adkins Minor.

He married Bernice Bradford in Westminister, California on December 19, 1958.

Richard was a active member of the 7th and Beech Church of Christ and the American Legion Post-39 where he was a former Post Commander.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marines during the Korean War.

Richard worked for the MKT and Union Pacific railroads as a lineman, signal maintainer and communications gang foreman until he retired after 30 years of service.

He loved his family, the quiet solitude of fishing, camping and his church family.

Mr. Minor is survived by his wife, Bernice Minor of Durant, Oklahoma; sons, David Minor of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Ron Minor of Midland, Virginia and Charles Minor of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Debra Chase of McCloud, Oklahoma; sisters, Becky Denson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wanda Epperson of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Linda Fletcher of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brother, Charles Minor of Harrisonville, Missouri; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Minor was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Loula Minor; step-mother, Effie Mae Minor; daughter-in-law, Linda Minor; and grandchildren, Marissa and Tawnya Minor.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the 7th and Beech Church of Christ with Bro. John Curtis officiating.
