Carol Jane Minor 69, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at her home in Madill. Carol was born on May 20, 1956, in Denison, Texas, to the late James Kenneth Baker and Oleta Jane Creswell Baker. She was raised in Denison before moving to Madill, where she graduated from Madill High School in 1974. She went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, Oklahoma. Carol began her career working for Dr. Greg Martens, where she faithfully served for 20 years. In 2001, she took a position with the City of Madill, where she was currently working as the city clerk and treasurer, becoming a well-respected and valued part of the community. Carol attended the First Baptist Church in Madill and she loved being with her grandkids, spending time at the lake, reading, and being involved in her work and community.
She is survived by:
Two daughters: Janie Lee and husband Charles of Buncombe Creek, Oklahoma
Tracy Cain and husband Dawson of Madill, Oklahoma
Three grandchildren: Zac Lee and fiancée Megan Samford, Gunner Cain, and Bryar Cain
Niece: Lindsay Bilyeu and husband Anthony of Madill, Oklahoma
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, still birth daughter, Amy Baker, sister: Rita Huffman; and a nephew: James Huffman.
