Robin Dale Mink, 67, was known to all his family and friends as ‘R.D.’. R.D. was born August 28, 1952, in Hobart, OK, to Helen Flodell Benson-Mink and passed from this life on July 25, 2020. R.D. proudly owned and operated R.D. Maintenance & Repair. His passion was building and painting municipal water towers and water treatment plants across the United States. He was single-handedly responsible for the invention of an in-tower aerator and the inverted cone water separator. He attended Eternal Life Church, in Marlow. His favorite pastimes included fishing, golfing, bragging about his daughters and grandsons, adopting random strangers and giving everyone he met a hard time with an ornery smile.
R.D. was survived by his three daughters: Laura Mink, of Ardmore, OK; Jennifer Shirley and her husband Jamie Shirley, of Ardmore; Venessa Swanson, of Duncan, OK; four grandsons: Rowdy Swanson, Roper Swanson, Jaxon Shirley, Jourden Shirley; and granddog, Lola Mink. R.D. was also survived by adopted brother, Floyd Carter, of Duncan; adopted daughter, Brandi Dillaman, of Aledo, TX; two adopted sons, Chad Abshire, of Duncan and Brad Humphries, of Ardmore; adopted grandsons: Cale Webb, of Duncan and Lucas Contreras, of Duncan, and adopted granddaughter, Kaisen Walker, of Frederick, OK.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen.
Funeral services will be held in Duncan, OK at Whitt Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, at 3pm. Family and friends visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, from 6pm-7:30pm.
