Iris was born to William and Dolores Unger in Santa Paula, California. The family moved to Colorado and eventually settled in Stilwell, Oklahoma where she graduated from Stilwell High School in 1981. Because Oklahoma had tornados, Iris moved to Rangely, Colorado to pursue a career in nursing. In May, she met the love of her life Boyd Millsaps. They were married on November 6, 1982. To that union was born Nathan Oliver, and Benjamin (B.J.) Lee. Iris and Boyd raised their sons in Rangely.
She was an active member of Rangely Volunteer Fire Department for nine years. She was especially active in the annual fire prevention program. Iris was a member of Bible Baptist Church for 33 years where she loved working with the children's ministry program and played the organ. Later, she helped with the home school group and Rangely Christian Academy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Boyd, of Dinosaur, Colo., sons Nathan, of Dinosaur and BJ of Dinosaur, her mother, Delores (Dee) Stilwell, brother Edwin (Cathy) Stilwell, a brother and sister in law Jonathan and Barbara Daniels of Rangely and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father William Unger who passed only 12 days before her, and an infant child. The family wishes to express their thanks for all your thoughts, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rangely Christian Academy; a Ministry of Bible Baptist Church of Rangely
