Wendy Michelle Miller

Wendy Michelle Miller
November 20, 1972 ~ January 9, 2019

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Michelle Miller. She was tragically taken from us on January 9, 2019, at the age of 46.

She was born in Tacoma, Washington on November 20, 1972, to Wayne Miller and Becky Nachtigall. She was raised on a small farm near Wakita, Oklahoma. Wendy graduated from Wakita High School in 1991, then attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education. She found her passion for teaching and began her career at Shawnee Public Schools. Wendy influenced and taught many students there for 17 years, then transitioned into her "dream job" as she referred to it, with Epic Charter School, where she taught and impacted lives for the last two and a half years.

Wendy lived each day fully by pouring into the lives of those she loved, especially her children. Being a mom was absolutely her greatest joy. It is what she wanted to be the best at and always known for. Wendy found her true mom joy when she welcomed Cade "The Man" into this world. Then she welcomed twin girls, Kylie "Bug" and Kenzie "Boo", into the world in 2003 and felt even more complete. Wendy always enjoyed the farm, being outdoors or being on the water with her kayak "Huck". She was full of life, passionate, funny, and a loving soul who influenced so many lives.

Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Cade, Kenzie, and Kylie Mikish; fiancé, Jason O'Conner of Shawnee; father and step-mother, Wayne and Cheryl Miller of Medford; mother, Becky Nachtigall of Enid; 6 siblings, Misty Overstreet of Yukon, Rachel West of Detroit, MI, Travis Miller of Medford, Stephanie Cason of Stillwater, Kaci Fox of Stillwater, Brett Corderman of Harper, KS; grandmother, Virginia Nachtigall of Wakita; 4 nieces; 6 nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life in memory of Wendy will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. A memorial will be held at Walker Funeral Home - 201 E. 45th St., Shawnee, OK 74804. Family and friends are invited to attend to honor and remember the life of Wendy.

In honor of Wendy's wishes, she will take her final resting place at her favorite place on the farm where she grew up.

"Country roads, take me home To the place I belong"

A benefit account has been set up for the children of Wendy Miller at BancFirst. There is also a GoFundMe account: Benefits for the children of Wendy Miller.
