Ruth Jeanne (Gilliland) Duncan Miller

Ruth Jeanne (Gilliland) Duncan Miller
September 12, 1945 ~ January 22, 2022

Edmond - Ruth Jeanne (Duncan) Miller, 76, of Edmond, OK suddenly passed away on January 22, 2022. Jeanne was born on September 12, 1945 to Emma Kathlyn and George Washington Gilliland, Jr. in Dewey, OK. Her father died at an early age and her mother was remarried to J.R. McNabb whose job on the seismograph crew at Phillips Petroleum required moving frequently across the country. Soon, baby brother, Jerry Lee McNabb was born and the family was complete. She graduated high school from Campus High School in Dickinson, ND in 1963.

As a young adult, after a short letter-writing courtship, she married Lewis Dee Duncan of Dewey, OK who had just retired from military service. Married for 24 years, they raised their two daughters Pam and Lisa in Bartlesville, OK. Jeanne enjoyed working at Phillips Petroleum Company in the Office Planning division, serving as Office Space Analyst using AutoCAD software to design offices at corporate headquarters.

Jeanne reconnected with and married her high school sweetheart, Tobias "Toby" Miller in 1992. They lived in Dickinson for several years before relocating to Liberal, KS and then to Oklahoma, where Jeanne worked at DCP Midstream as an Administrative Assistant. Toby and Jeanne retired in Edmond, OK.

Jeanne was an avid quilter and had more fabric than one person should be allowed. She loved to travel with her cousin Ginger Anderson. Her love language was cooking and baking, and often hosted family for formal holiday meals and casual gatherings. She always made enough to feed a small army, and she freely handed out Wal-Mart sacks full of leftovers. Her laugh was infectious, she gave the best hugs, and she loved giving impromptu nicknames.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Toby Miller, mother, Emma Kathlyn McNabb, father, George Washington Gilliland, Jr., stepfather, J.R. McNabb, and beloved cocker spaniel, Joe Dog Stoke. She is survived by daughters Pam Mowry (Mike) of Edmond, OK, Lisa Duncan of Oklahoma City, OK, sibling Jerry McNabb (Carla) of Edmond, OK, daughters Kimberly Miller of Hebron, ND, Kelly Castano (Matt) of Sundance, WY, Deanna Harris (Chris) of Oklahoma City, OK, Dawn Walsh (Justin) of Fort Collins, CO, grand daughters Taylor Mowry and Emma Mowry of Stillwater, OK, and nephews Paul McNabb of Bentonville, AR and Austin McNabb (Amy) of Edmond, OK. She loved her cousins, 8 grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces and nephews and is also survived by cocker spaniel Lady and cat Penelope.

A Service Celebrating Jeanne's life will be at 2pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Crawford Family Funeral Home. With Visitation Friday, January 28 from 1pm – 5pm.
