Lawrence Edward Miller

Lawrence Edward Miller
September 6, 1948 ~ January 21, 2025

The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Lawrence Edward Miller, 76, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Garriott Road Church of Christ, with Pastor Ray Rose officiating. Complete cremation care and service's are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, a life celebration home.

Lawrence was born on September 6, 1948, to Albert and Lula Miller in Endicott, West Virginia, and passed from this life on January 21, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Endicott, graduating from Hundred High School with the Class of 1965. Shortly after, Lawrence enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country for four years.

On January 23, 1971, Lawrence married Alice Unruh in Enid, Oklahoma. Their journey together took them to Wichita, Kansas, and later to multiple communities, including Hugo, Oklahoma; Vinita, Oklahoma; Excelsior Springs, Missouri; Nevada, Missouri; and Strafford, Missouri, as Lawrence pursued his career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. After his retirement in 2008, the couple returned to Enid, where they have lived ever since.

Lawrence was a recent member of the Garriott Road Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, fixing things, and playing solitaire. While he was a stubborn and opinionated man, his family and friends knew him for his generous heart and unwavering willingness to help others.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Alice Miller, of the home; his daughter, Kim Clark, and her husband, Daniel Clark, of Enid, Oklahoma, along with their daughter Megan Clark; his son, Ray Miller, and his wife, Rachel Miller, of Kansas City, Missouri, along with their children Kody Pasteur, Isiah Miller, and Lucien Miller; and his siblings, Arthur Miller of Wileyville, West Virginia, Thelma Rayburn of Amsterdam, Ohio, and Dale Miller of Steubenville, Ohio. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Jenna Clark.

Memorials may be made in Lawrence’s honor to the Garriott Road Church of Christ, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.BrownCummings.com.
