William Douglas Millar III, of Norman, passed from this life May 18, 2015. He was born May 29, 1950 in Chicago, IL to William Douglas Millar, Jr. and Lillian Naismith Millar.
He graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 1968. He ventured to Oklahoma where he later graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelors degree in Business Management. While attending OU he served as the president of the RUF/NEKS and became a proud member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He married Sarah Denise Cozad on July 1, 1977 at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. He worked as an internal auditor for the State of Oklahoma and OU. Later he worked in the banking industry, spending the last 20 years with Arvest Bank. Bill enjoyed gardening, playing dobro, fly fishing in the Colorado mountains, playing with his grandchildren, and watching the Cubs play (win or lose).
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Margaret Cozad-Wilson, and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years; sister, Mary Ann Ralston; daughter, Alyson and husband Ward Hobson; son, Will Millar; other children, Wes and his wife Becca Wilson, Sarah and husband Tristan Fitzsimmons, and Zach Wilson; grandchildren, Lucas, Everett, Atticus, Cordelia, and Xavier; and numerous family members and friends.
Services for William are 2:00PM, Thursday, May 21, 2015 at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.
