Larry Keith Milburn, 71-year-old Thackerville, OK resident, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, in the Callaway Nursing Home in Sulphur, OK.
Larry was born March 1, 1952, in Dallas, TX the son of Robert and Syble (Reeves) Milburn. Larry was raised in the Dallas area where he also attended schools. Larry served his country in the United States Army for a brief period before he was honorably discharged for medical reasons. On December 31, 1998, in Farmer’s Branch, TX, Larry married Rhonda Curry. The two spent more than 25 years together.
Over the years, Larry found work in several different fields, most recently building houses. His passion was singing and music. He spent countless hours making C.D.’s and singing karaoke. Larry was also a ballroom dancer. When Larry wasn’t singing or dancing, you would most likely find him somewhere enjoying a Dr. Pepper and a Swiss Cake Roll.
Larry had many friends, several of whom he came to know from Winstar World Casino & Resort. Both his friends and his family will remember him as a loyal, funny, brave, and strong man.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister, Paulette Wells; and by a brother, Roger Milburn. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rhonda; son, Christopher Milburn of Midlothian, TX; daughter, Misty Dawn O’Neal of Dallas; step-daughters, Rebecca Mayer of Thackerville and Jennifer Mayer of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Kailor Milburn, Rhonda Mayer, Joshua Mayer, Keith Krebbs, and Kaytlin Lewis; two great-grandchildren; brother, Derryl Milburn and wife Judy of Sanger, TX; sister, Donna Greenhill and husband Michael of Sanger; brother-in-law, Deboy Wells of Valley View, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend and four legged companion, Maddie.
The family has asked that those who wish to honor Larry’s memory through donation, contribute to the fund for funeral expenses by sending a check or calling with a credit or debit card to Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 E Main St, Marietta, OK 73448.
