Henderson, NV - Richard W. Michael 94 of Henderson, Nevada moved to his Heavenly Home on March 14, 2021. Richard was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Roy and Helen Michael on July 18, 1926. His wife of 58 years Martha was also a Kansas City native and proceeded him in death in 2011.
Richard and family lived for 17 years in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he worked as a Systems Analyst and Computer engineer for Phillips 66 Petroleum and its subsidiary Applied Automation. Later he transferred to the Phillips Refinery in Pasadena, Texas and made his home in Clear Lake City. Richard and Martha were both active in the East Cross Methodist Church in Bartlesville and later Clear Lake Methodist. In 1989 they found their ideal retirement home in Lago Vista, Texas outside of Austin and lived an active life of golf and bridge with friends, as well as Richard loved singing with the Hill Country Singing Chorale there.
In 2008, Richard and Martha moved to the newly opened Sunrise Assisted Living in Henderson, Nevada near their son Dr Paul Michael and daughter-in-law Dr Susan Michael. There Richard was known as the Wii Bowling Champ and long -term Resident Council President. The great care and activities provided along with closeness to their oldest son and family in Henderson gave him great joy.
Richard is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Janice and Norman Quinn and daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Dan Glover. He was the proud grandfather of Dr. Julia Alzoubaidi with her husband Dr. Mohammed Alzoubaidi, Dr. Rebecca Michael, Dr. Eric Michael, Ryan and Stephanie Quinn, Whitney Roberts, and a Great Grandfather to Sami Michael Alzoubaidi.
