Richard Lee Michael

Richard Lee Michael
August 17, 1934 ~ June 29, 2016

Richard (Dick) Lee Michael, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many was born August 17, 1934 and left us June 29, 2016.

He was survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances (Frann) Michael, daughter, Rose Michael, son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Judy Michael, sister, Avalyn (Lyn) Gillmore, 5 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. What a legacy of family he has left!

Dick was an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. He was never afraid to start something new and was always ready to take on new challenges. He began his career at a very early age as a paperboy, surpassing all records in sales, and the rest is history! He was exceedingly successful at everything he did and started many of his own businesses, and because of that, helped many reach their own dreams and goals. He was a motivator and mentor to many.

In his midlife years he became fascinated with clocks of every kind and began a new career of horology that lasted for 40 years. Michael's Antique Clocks was known across the country. His love of clocks was handed down to his two children, and even his grandson, so the legacy continues to this day. In his younger years his hobbies were dancing and traveling ~ he loved both! Later his hobby became his fish ponds, which was kiddingly considered a career in itself. His fish and ponds brought him much solace and entertainment over the years. Even while in his pain, he would talk about his fish and ponds and his ideas for his grandkids to be a part of it.

Dick will always be remembered as a lover of life and a lover of his family. Family was his heartbeat.
