Mike Meyer, age 59 of Goldsby, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Michael William Meyer was born March 23, 1958 in Norman, OK. His parents were the late Bill Meyer, and Joyce (Goldsby) Gerald.
Mike spent his early childhood in Norman, before moving to Frankfurt, Germany, where he attended school and graduated high school. After graduating, Mike returned to the States to attend college, attending both Cal Tech (scholarship) (and the University of Oklahoma. Mike received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering. His career was in computer software He worked at OU for several years, and also at the University of California at Berkley.
Mike loved his work. When not working, he enjoyed building and piloting radio-controlled boats, planes, helicopters, and drones. He was an avid reader and an active blogger, and enjoyed sharing his talents and interacting with others around the world. Mike was a huge sports fan. He loved everything OU and was a lifetime Los Angeles Rams fan. He was a gamer, and especially like playing "GO", and he never missed a chance for a competitive game of darts. He was especially proud of his Chickasaw heritage and grateful for the help from them. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by: His father and stepmother, Bill and Jeanie Meyer and His stepfather, Paul Gerald.
Mike is survived by: Two sons, Paul Meyer and Alan Meyer, both of Oakland, CA; His mother, Joyce Gerald of Goldsby; Siblings, Glen Meyer of Moore, Susan Alfert and husband Oz of OKC, Cheri deFonteny and husband Brian of Norman and Tanya Meyer of Norman; Several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
