Edward "Ed" Metcalf was born November 27, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Willow, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Ed grew up in the Tulsa area where he spent his youth until the age of 40 when he moved to Wichita, Kansas where he briefly worked as a truck driver. In 1998, he obtain his Certified Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CADC) certificate and began working for Mirror Inc. Ed's passion in life was helping men with alcohol and drug problems and criminal behavior. After 15 years of counseling, he retired in 2011 and moved to western Oklahoma where he spent the last years of his life surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Todd, Irene Martin; sister, Tanna Lee Kelly; son-in-law, Jon Larson and 2 infant grandchildren.
He is survived by his 3 children, Kelly Haney and husband, Buddy, Elk City, OK, Shelly Larson, Willow, OK and Jonas Goins and wife, Jazmine, Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, step father, Jim Martin, Fayetteville, AR; 1 brother and his Mirror Inc. family.
Private family services will be held a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service and condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com.
