Bob Metcalf left this world to be with his Master, Monday morning July 27, 2009. Bob was born to R.B. and Verna Metcalf on October 13, 1927 in Oklahoma City, OK. He moved with his family to Cyril, Oklahoma in 1933. He went to the public schools in Cyril.
Bob joined the army in 1945; he served in the Special Forces (SRDP) in Germany for three years. He received an honorable discharge.
Bob met Louise Lueb and they were married in July 1950. They lived in Dallas, Texas for 10 years, where he was manger of the third floor shoe salon of a major downtown department store. After moving back to Oklahoma City he worked for Dolese concrete Company and later worked with Goddard Concrete retiring as personnel manager in 1989.
Bob left his special mate of 59 years, Louise, daughter Sharon and her husband Curt Morris. Grandchildren Christen and Curtis. A son Kim Metcalf and three granddaughters Sonia, Kimberly and Michelle, 3 great grandchildren. Another granddaughter Bonnie of Texas with her four children.
His earlier hobbies included flying his Bonanza, weather permitting on Saturdays with his partner Dr. J.R. Dickey of Nicoma Park. On Sundays they would ride their Moto Guzzi motor cycles. Bob enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. He also loved his mini farm 'The Lazy M Ranch' and being able to raise his own animal feed. Bob also customized baled hay in his area for his neighbors.
After retiring Bob enjoyed volunteering delivery of mobile meals through his church, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He did this for 5 years.
Bob is survived by his brother Gene and his wife Monica Metcalf of Cyril, OK. Sister Joan and husband Paul Hancock of Tyler, TX. Betty Hearn of Arcadia, CA.
Bob is preceded in death by his father R. B. Metcalf of Cyril, Mother, Verna of Tyler, TX. Daughter-in-law Marie Metcalf and son Bobbie Metcalf, Jr. . . With God and his hobbies Bob had a good life. He was loved and respected by many.
