Edward Lewis Merritt, a Coalgate resident, was born on October 15, 1947, to Daniel Jerome and Eleanor Elizabeth (Rusk) Merritt, at Grantsburg, WI. He passed away on July 9, 2022 at his home in Coalgate, OK at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 24 days.
Edward graduated from Snow Flake High School in Snow Flake, AZ. He was a lumberjack for many years. Edward married Connie Louise Bias on January 23, 1976 at Clarksville, TX. They enjoyed 46 years together. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, working with wood and fishing. He collected coins, baseball cards, marbles and toy cars.

Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of
dearly loved friends.
