Mr. Carlos Eugene "Butch" Merchant, 68, of Bartlesville, died at 10:40 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the Stumpff Funeral Home with Mr. Kenne Whitson of the Church of Christ in Garden City, Kansas officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Merchant was born at Mobile, Alabama on June 18, 1945 the son of Nina Betty (Ulmer) and Carlos Edward Merchant. He grew up in the Kansas City area and served with the U.S. Navy during the Viet-Nam-era. He was married to Donna Kay Blair on June 23, 1974 in Bartlesville and was employed at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Kay Merchant, three children, Travis Lee Merchant and wife Shelly of Bartlesville, Christina Randolph of Pawhuska and Butch Justin Merchant of Paulsboro, New Jersey, two grandsons, Sterling Ryan Merchant and Braxton Eugene Guy Randolph, four granddaughters, Crystal Nicole Alexander, Ashton Leighann Merchant, Sarah Renee Merchant and Rebecca Ailene Betterton, four great grandchildren, his father, Carlos Edward Merchant, three sisters and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Betty Merchant.
