Theresa Ann Mennecke was born on September 14, 1948, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Robert Eugene and Jewell Dean (Guinn) Frusher. She departed from this Earth on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her home in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 21 days.
Theresa grew up in Sayre, Oklahoma, and graduated from Putnam City High School with the Class of 1966. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University, earning her bachelor’s degree, and later completed her master’s degree in counseling at Northeastern State University.
Locust Grove was home for many years, and it was here that Theresa dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked as a counselor for Locust Grove Public Schools, where she supported countless students through the years. She also drove a school bus for the district, worked at Cook’s Restaurant as a dishwasher to earn extra income, served at the Locust Grove Nursing Home, and spent time assisting disabled individuals and families throughout the surrounding area. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she was known for always going above and beyond.
Theresa attended the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Group in Locust Grove. She was also an outstanding and helpful member of the Locust Grove Chamber of Commerce.
Away from work, Theresa enjoyed a variety of hobbies. One of her greatest joys was scuba diving, a passion she learned from her father and enjoyed both at Lake Tenkiller and in Cozumel. She also loved scrapbooking, sewing, reading, and caring for the many children who were part of her life. Above all, she had a heart for helping others and could always be counted on to lend a hand.
Theresa will be remembered as a caring, loving, and genuinely helpful person who remained joyful and positive throughout her life—even until the very end.
She is survived by: 3 sons: Travis Mennecke and girlfriend Megan of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Grant Mennecke of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Ryan Mennecke and wife Laura of Baltimore, Maryland; 6 grandchildren: Amber Mennecke of Minneapolis, Tyler Mennecke of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Madison Mennecke of Locust Grove and mother: Christine Wilson, and Devin Mennecke of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Taylor Mennecke and Theo Mennecke of Baltimore; 2 step-children: Ezekiel Mennecke of Colcord, Oklahoma, Mikalene Ransom of Spring Valley, California; 3 brothers: Dale Frusher and Caroline of Edmond, Oklahoma, Cody Frusher and wife Megan of Gore, Oklahoma, and Austin Frusher and wife Kelsey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Her Step-mother: Susan Frusher of Gore, Oklahoma; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Theresa was preceded in death by: her parents; 1 sister: Gale Drain; and 1 niece: April Frusher.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church, with Reverend Jeff Blair officiating. Services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Memories, condolences, and tributes may be shared at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
