Norie Lee (Barnard) Melton
December 14, 1937 ~ February 28, 2022

Norie Lee Melton passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2022 . She was born on December 14, 1937 in Perkins, Oklahoma to Noah and Bessie Barnard. Nora grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma, she attended Dewey schools. She loved the lord and taught Sunday school in her church in Missouri. Nora and Bob, her late husband, owned and operated the Edna Mattress factory in Edna, Kansas until their retirement where they moved to Stella, Missouri to live in the little cabin on Sugar Creek that they had built from ground up by hand. In later years, Nora moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to be closer to her sisters, she was a member of the Eagles 610 Auxiliary and loved playing bingo.

She is survived by 6 children, Perry Lee Turner of Lavaca, AR, Ollyn Bess Dye of Lavaca, AR, Earleen Bolejack of Tulsa, OK, Cecelia Escobedo of MO, Tina McAfee of Coffeyville, KS and Roberta Miranda of MO; 3 sisters, Margaret (Marge) Barcus and husband John of the home, Nyoka Folds of Tulsa, OK, Linda Kemp and husband Steve of Vera; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Melton; Her sister, Shirley Hudgens; Her brother, Arthur Barnard; and her parents.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
