Kurtis Melton was born December 1, 1990 and left his earthly home July 10, 2019. Born to Danny and Brenda (Parks) Melton in Enid, OK, Kurtis was the youngest of three children. He attended school in Waynoka where he made his home after moving back from Alva and Ringwood. Kurtis enjoyed many activities including but not limited to camping, fishing, being outdoors, listening to music, and spending time with loved ones. He especially enjoyed water skiing and spending time with his family at Canton Lake. Kurtis enjoyed working at Hometown Café as much as he liked working in the oilfield previously, where he made numerous friends. Family and friends will miss his goofy smile and loving spirit the most.
Kurtis was preceded in death by his mother Brenda, two grandmothers Sonja Parks and Janice Melton, grandfather Jim Parks and other family members.
He is survived by his father Dan Melton of Ringwood, sister Hillary Melton and Jacob Larson, and his two children, Jacob Jr and Seanna of Enid, brother Keith and wife Sharon Melton of Waynoka, grandfather Tony Melton of Perry, and numerous aunts’, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the Lone Survivor Foundation at www.lonesurvivorfoundation.org, an organization Kurtis had mentioned several times.
