Derik Ray Melson

Derik Ray Melson
February 28, 1986 ~ December 10, 2023 (age 37)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Derik Ray Melson, who left us at the age of 37 on December 10, 2023. Derik was born February 28, 1986 in Tulsa to Glenn and Amy (Nickell) Melson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hannah, and their three beloved children, his son, Waylon, and daughters, Logan and Cadie of Chandler. His memory will also be cherished by his mother, Amy Melson of Chandler, his siblings, and grandmother.

Derik was a man with a fighter’s spirit and resilience to be admired. He never gave up on anything– not on life and certainly not on his family. Derik’s unwavering determination to overcome obstacles and his deep commitment to his family will remain an enduring legacy to all who knew him.

A service to celebrate Derik’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. January 23, 2024 at the Life Church in Shawnee. In expressing condolences, the family kindly requests that you consider sending flowers or making a donation towards a special tree planting service to be held in the spring for the immediate family, serving as a living tribute to Derik. Contributions to this memorial will help create a lasting remembrance in his honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
