Gary Lynn Meister, 61, Carthage, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in McCune-Brooks Hospital after a sudden illness. Gary was born April 11, 1945, in Hartner, KS to Alexander "Dude" Meister and Thadean (Henwood) Meister.
Gary was a graduate of Hel-ena High School, Hel-ena, OK, attended the First Church of the Naza-rene, Car-thage; was a member of the International Truck Collectors Association and the "Wrinkled Roosters" Coffee Club.
He married Betty Harmon on May 6, 1970, in Miami, OK.
Survivors include his wife Betty, of the home; six children, Diana Berry, Bentonville, AR, Paula Brantley and husband Scott, Hot Springs, AR, Harry Meister and wife Dana, Oklahoma City, OK, Brian Meister, Oklahoma City, OK, Shannon Meister, Simonton, TX, Shawn Meister and wife Ashley, Carthage, MO; four brothers, Ed Meister, Grove, OK, Bob Meister and wife Sharon, Odessa, TX, Mark Meister and wife Carol, State of Oklahoma and Roger Meister, State of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Alexander, Harry, Bill and Jim Meister.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Carthage. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery, southeast of Carthage, MO.
Memorial gifts are suggested to the "Wrinkled Roosters" Benevolence Fund in care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO.
