Bartlesville, Oklahoma-
Mary Elizabeth Medlock, 96, passed away
peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was surrounded by her
loving family. Mary Beth was born on May 30, 1929, in Minneapolis, Kansas;
she grew up there and enjoyed the freedom of life in a small town even
though it was during the depression and the occasional dust storm. She
graduated high school from Monticello Academy in Godfrey, Illinois. Mary
Beth then attended the University of Kansas, where she met her future
husband, Charles Medlock.
Mary Beth and Charles were married in 1950 in Minneapolis, Kansas, and moved to the Kansas City area. They had four children in the Kansas City area. In 1961, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where she lived for 64 years.
Mary Beth said she was a career homemaker, but she was much more than that. She was a member of the St. John Altar Society and PTA (and helped secure air conditioning for the convent). She was a life-long member of the PEO and was proud to be awarded for 75 years of service. Charlie and Mary Beth loved boating and fishing, and for many years they enjoyed traveling and cruising.
She is survived by her children: son, James Medlock and wife, Tricia; daughter, Janet Maxwell; son, Mike Medlock and wife, Teresa; son, Pat Medlock and wife, Tina; grandchildren: Jeff Maxwell and wife, Liz; Sarah Kennedy and husband, Joe; Charlie Maxwell and Amber Sirmans, Theresa Maxwell and husband, Daniel; Scott Medlock and wife, Lindsay; Anne Medlock-Ely and husband, Stephen; Stephen Medlock and wife, Lindsay; Kathryn Medlock-Davis and husband, Alex; great-grandchildren: Luke, Helen, Will, Julia, Iris, Madison, and Harper.
Mary Beth is predeceased by her husband: Charlie, and her son-in-law: Ron Maxwell.
A Rosary for Mary Beth will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 9:30 AM, at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM, with Father Leonardo Morales officiating. Donations may be made in Mary Beth’s name to ElderCare at 1223 Swan Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74006, or St. John’s Catholic School at 816 S. Keeler Ave, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Arrangements are under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service of downtown Bartlesville. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemoriesbartlesville.com.
