Sara Beatriz Medina, better known to her loving family as Mamá Sara, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2020. She was born in Toluca, Estado de México to Manuel Medina Torres and Guadalupe Bertha Iturbe de Medina.
Being the courageous woman she was, at the age of 20 she made her journey to the United States arriving to Texas and later settling in Oklahoma. She was the first in the family to reside in the U.S. and opened pathway for other family members to soon join her.
Mamá Sara was a very giving person who had many great qualities including helping anyone and everyone. She was considered “cupid” to some, as she was responsible for match-making couples that are to this day happily married.
She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed dressing up as a witch every Halloween and was an avid music lover with Juan Gabriel being her favorite. Traveling was a passion of hers visiting Guatemala, Honduras, many U.S states, and all 32 states in Mexico. She enjoyed the beach and had a way of making friends everywhere she went. Some of her most cherished time was spent with her family on trips to the zoo, Disney World, Frontier City and treating her grandkids to applesauce.
She was a wonderful mom who took pride in her appearance always having her nails done and wearing fashionable jewelry. In addition to her love of cooking for her one and only church Santa María Virgen, she was gifted in many areas including welding, baking, and being a nurse. However, her greatest ambition was spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mamá Sara will be greatly missed and always be remembered as a warrior, devoted Christian, beloved friend to all, loving mother, caring grandmother and wonderful great-grandmother.
