Betty LaVonne (Frazier) Meador

November 28, 1931 ~ December 27, 2025

Betty LaVonne Meador was born November 28, 1931, at the home in Ingalls, KS, to Melvin and Myrl “Stebbins” Frazier. She passed away early Saturday morning, on December 27, 2025, at the age of 94, in Watonga, OK surrounded by her loving family.

Betty graduated high school in Ingalls, KS, as valedictorian. Shortly after graduated she married her childhood sweetheart, Roy Meador, on October 2, 1949. They enjoyed 76 wonderful years of marriage together. Roy and Betty moved to Sublette, where they built their first home. Later, they moved to the Carbon Black Camp, where Roy worked until it closed in 1960. After 40 years of being a homemaker, she and Roy became house parents at Youthville in Dodge City, KS. While working at Youthville, they made a tremendous impact on many of the youth’s lives, before returning to Satanta. Betty loved the Lord and passed down that love and dedication to her family. She enjoyed reading books, doing crosswords, and spending quality time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was a member of the Satanta Methodist Church, qhere she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the UMW and YO Club.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Steven Meador and wife, Susan of Augusta, KS, Paul David Meador and wife, Lisa of Watonga, OK; two daughters, Sandy Bradford and husband, Jerry of Liberal, KS, Deb Meador and companion, Mike Hooper, of Sublette, KS; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many more relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Roy; sisters, Delores Frazier, Carlene Wendel, and Crystal Denton, and one grandson, Bobby Proctor.

A memorial has been established for Betty at the Satanta Methodist Church, in Satanta, KS on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2pm. The burial will follow, at Dudley Township Cemetery, in Satanta, KS with Robson Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Viewing for Betty will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, from 2pm-8pm at Robson Funeral Home in Satanta, KS.

Memorials may be made out to Satanta Methodist Church and mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 747, Satanta, KS, 67870.
