Tommy E. McWilliams

Tommy E. McWilliams
August 20, 1950 ~ January 25, 2026

Bennington, OK- Tommy E. McWilliams was born on Sunday, August 20, 1950 in Durant, Oklahoma to Hubert and Pauline (Everett) McWilliams. He passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 in his Bennington home at the age of 75.

Tommy married Linda Hampton on Friday, October 17, 1969 in Durant. They were married 56 years. Tommy was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He worked as a plumber’s assistant, electrician apprentice, heavy equipment operator, and operation supervisor for Oklahoma Natural Gas from July 1979 until his retirement in September 2005.

Tommy had many interests and hobbies: Reading, watching fishing shows, working on anything and everything in his shop. Cars and motors he loved to fix. He always loved a good game of canasta with the neighbors. His number one enjoyment was his sons and grandchildren whether they were playing baseball or taking them fishing.

Tommy coached Little League baseball when his children and their friends were just learning the game. Many of the players still think of him as a coach and friend. Tommy was an avid outdoors man but his passion was fishing, fishing, and fishing. His brother Dennis and Tommy would talk about baits, lakes, maps, and the best places to fish. He also got his sons and grandchildren excited about the sport. Tommy was associated with the Little Dixie Bass Club and Red River Bass Club and enjoyed the members. He always looked forward to their monthly tournaments.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dennis McWilliams and Coy Lee McWilliams.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; sons, Tommy M. McWilliams and wife Chryl of Bennington, Oklahoma, and Stuart McWilliams and wife Tiffany of Edgewood, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Trevor McWilliams of Bennington, Oklahoma, Nicole McClung and husband Alan of Elk City, Oklahoma, Tucker McWilliams and wife Teddy of Oklahoma City, Talon McWilliams and wife Laney of Bennington, Oklahoma, Alex McWilliams of Bennington, Oklahoma, and Bethany McWilliams of Edgewood, Texas; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services to honor Tommy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Durant. Honorary pallbearers will be Loren Siems, Craig Smith, Steve Roberts, David Rice, Brett Roberts, and Carl Leung.
