September 8, 1922 ~ May 21, 2005

Pauline Ruth McQueen Services: Friday, May 27, 1:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Union Cemetery, King and Potomac Streets, for Pauline Ruth McQueen. Pastor Herman Lippert will officiate. Pauline died at home surrounded by her loving family on May 21, 2005.

She was born September 8, 1922, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. At the age of 2, she traveled with her family to Bakersfield. In 1940, she met and married the love of her life, Gene. They shared their love for 60 years. Dad preceded Mom in death four years ago. Pauline also was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray and James Carter and Milton Frissell.

She is survived by her brother, Lester Carter of Bakersfield; and sisters, May Schreck of Medford, Oregon, Victoria Batchelor of Bakersfield and Mildred Finn of Laguna Woods, California. Pauline was the devoted mother of son, Thomas McQueen and wifed, Bonnie, of Bakersfield; daughters, Patricia Anguish of Bakersfield and Nancy McQueen of Fresno. Mom was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

During her life she worked as a waitress, cafeteria worker, Avon representative and she was an accomplished seamstress. Pauline was actively involved for over 50 years in her church, Christs Church of the Valley. She got the most joy from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retirement, Mom and Dad spent many happy years traveling with the Good Sam Club of Lake Isabella.

The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice for their loving care of our Mom and request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to this worthy organization.

Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation begins Thursday from 2-8 p.m.
