A family memorial service for Gerald "Jerry" Leroy McMillan, age 89, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Gerald was born to Willis and Bessie (Hormel) McMillan in Waynesville, Ohio, on October 4, 1922, and passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in Enid.
Jerry grew up in the southeast Ohio region around Wilmington. He graduated from High School and then got his training and certification to test milk at the local farms. Jerry served in the U.S. Army 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment from 1944 to 1946. He parachuted onto the island of Corregidor on 2/16/1945. He worked many, many odd jobs, but he worked for the longest time as a production engineer in the aviation industry. He moved to Enid from Winterhaven, Florida in October of 2010 to be close to his oldest daughter, Debbie. Jerry loved playing bridge and watching sports, especially golf.
Gerald is survived by daughters, Deborah Ruthenberg of Enid, and Cindi Baltimore of Grand Rapids, Michigan; son Mike McMillan of Sliddell, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brother Richard McMillan of Ohio.
