Freida J. (Cox) McMeans

September 14, 1936 ~ May 6, 2002

Memorial services for Freida J. McMeans, 65, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, in the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel, Ardmore, with the Rev Jody Hamm officiating.

Mrs. McMeans was born on September 14, 1936, at Hoxbar, the daughter of Ernest V. and Molene Massey Cox. She died Monday, May 6, 2002, in Oklahoma City.

A resident of Ardmore all of her life, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ardmore. She and Don McMeans were married on October 22, 1955, in Ardmore.

Survivors include her husband, Don of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg and Patty McMeans of Ardmore and Shanon McMeans of Nashville; a daughter, Kimberly McMeans of Arlington, Texas; for sisters, Ernestine Brandt of Ardmore, Roberta Evelyn Burkett of Long Monte, Colorado, Wanda Lee Daniel of Ardmore and Betty Jo Townsend of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Stacey McMeans, and her canine friend, Molly.

Mrs. McMeans was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Billy Ruth Cox.

Services were under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, Ardmore.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Crohn’s Foundation in care of First National Bank of Ardmore.
