Lois Viola McManus, 94, of Midwest City passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at her home. She was born December 15, 1914 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to John and Ida Mae (Jarnagin) McCarson.
Lois grew up in western Oklahoma, graduating high school in Mountain View. Lois retired from Tinker AFB in 1985. She was an accomplished seamstress and a member of Alethia Temple Pentecostal Holiness church. Lois very much enjoyed owning and racing horses with her family.
Mother was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 66 years, Elmer McManus and sister, Opal Adkisson.
She is survived by her children: Johnny McManus and his wife Kaye, Viola Hightower, Larry McManus and Melba Forney; 10 grandchildren: Steve, Jimmy, David and Chad McManus, Amy Hammon, Thomas Hightower, Teisha Gallegly, Jaala Hightower, Billy Forney and Angie Smith; 14 great grandchildren: Rachel, Lauren, Jenna, Jordan, J.B., Benny, Isaac, Ella, Brinley, Paidyn, Jordan, Austin, Bryce and Chad; 2 great great grandchildren: Kylie and Brayden; Caretakers: Joyce Cecil and Hilda Carrillo; and many other relatives and dear friends.
She will be missed greatly and loved always by all.
