Linda Sue McMahan

Linda Sue McMahan
November 13, 1952 ~ May 15, 2023

Linda Sue McMahan, 70, of Shawnee, OK, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Linda was born on November 13, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Roy and Betty (Reitz) McMahan.

She was raised in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1971. She then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1976 and a Master’s in Natural Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Linda began her career in Tecumseh teaching science and coaching basketball and retired from Shawnee Middle School. She truly loved her students and to this day would be approached by former students that just wanted to say hi or to tell her how much she meant to them growing up.

She discovered her true passion in November 2006 when she became a Volunteer Puppy Raiser at Canine Companions. Through this wonderful program she touched countless lives and made lasting friendships. Linda always said if she could help just one person have a better life, then all of her sacrifice and time was well worth it. Every week, she and Kaiser, one of her puppies she raised, would go to the VA hospital in Oklahoma City to visit the patients there to bring them a little hope and help brighten their day.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty McMahan and sister-in-law, Nancy McMahan.

She is survived by her siblings: Cindy Bidack, Steve McMahan, Jerry McMahan and his wife Stacy, nieces and nephews: Kristen Tate (Brian), Kyle Honeycutt, Emily Gideon (Bobby), Adam Honeycutt (Shelby), Kate McMahan, Molly McPhillips (Tyler), Olivia Morgan (Nathan) and Aaron Palmer (Tosha), great-nieces and nephews: Brynley, Jax, Madi, Beckett, Eleanor, Haven, Hadley, Brylee, Roy and Louise and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
