Jimmie Loyd McMahan, 85, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 in Shawnee.
He was born August 22, 1937 to C.R. McMahan and Amanda (Webb) McMahan in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Jimmie grew up in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools. He lived most of his life in Shawnee.
He married Mary Ann Hardin on October 11, 1959 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2007. He married Carol Ann Truelove on November 22, 2008 in McKinney, Texas.
Jimmie proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years in Guam and 16 years in the Army Reserves. He was honorably discharged.
He worked for O. G. & E. starting out as a meter reader and worked as an operator for many years before he retired in 1997. Jimmie drove cars for Ford dealership for a few years and went to Decatur, Texas many times.
He was a member of the O. G. & E. Men’s Club. Jimmie enjoyed raising cattle, spending winters in Texas and travelling to many historical sites in the U.S. and making two trips to Disney World. Jimmie loved family get togethers and always had his movie camera out to take pictures. He loved his family and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann McMahan; his parents; C.R. McMahan and Amanda Byus; 1 brother, James Floyd McMahan; and 1 sister, Carol Lee Irons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol McMahan of the home; 2 daughters, Terri Reynolds of Ada, OK and Lori Villines of Tecumseh, OK; 1 son, Eric McMahan of Shawnee, OK; 6 grandchildren, Patrick Love, Holly Dunagan, Bryant Love, Heather Kiper, Tucker McMahan and Collin McMahan; 6 great-grandchildren, Grace Dunagan, Mary Beth Dunagan, Ruthie Dunagan, Dreka McMahan, Allie Love and Jeremiah Works; 1 brother, Wendell McMahan; 1 step-daughter, Molly Truelove; 2 step-grandchildren, Ashley Jordan Brewer and Bryce Brewer; and other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church, 2218 Ellis Drive, Shawnee, OK with Pastor Scott Hendrey officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
