David Ray McKenzie

David Ray McKenzie
April 23, 1949 ~ August 24, 2013

David Ray McKenzie, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma resident was born on April 23, 1949, in Vallejo, California and departed this life on August 24, 2013, at his home in Chandler, at the age of 64 years.

David was the son of Hershel and Laura Mae Planty McKenzie.

He married Connie Nance on August 5, 1972, in Fairfield, California.

David worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a social worker for many years after owning his own business.

He was head Scout Master for Troop 111 in Chandler.

His parents preceded David in death.

Survivors include his wife, Connie of the home, two sons and daughter-in-law, Reed and Laura McKenzie of Edmond, Oklahoma and Sean McKenzie of Fort Gordon, Georgia, one sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Ted Martin of Fairfield California, three grandchildren, Jacquelyn McKenzie of Houston, Texas, Dayton McKenzie of Edmond, Oklahoma and Maecy McKenzie of Edmond, Oklahoma, other relatives and many friends.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the DHS Christmas Gift Program for Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August, 28, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Allen Carson and Tom Wright officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
