March 31, 1943 ~ December 5, 2022

Barry Lynn McKelvy, 79, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home in Chandler, Oklahoma.

Barry was born on Wednesday, March 31, 1943, to Verne and Mary Anne (Wrangler) McKelvy in Chanute, Kansas. He married Zenaida Marcelino on August 22, 1965, in Angeles City, Philippines. Barry was of the Catholic faith, attending both St. Teresa of Avila in Harrah, Oklahoma, and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague, Oklahoma.

Barry made his career serving our country in the United States Air Force, working in morse code, as a staff sergeant, and as an air traffic controller. He earned many distinctions and awards and retired with an honorable discharge after 20 years of service, very proud for working as long as he did. He was veteran of The Vietnam War.

Barry enjoyed golfing, playing cards, gardening, collecting coins, and visiting friends. More than anything, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He treasured getting to meet his great grandbabies.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 57 years, Zenaida McKelvy; his children, Michael McKelvy and wife, Charlotte of Newalla, Oklahoma, Rico McKelvy and wife, Emma of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Mary Ann Galo and husband, Ramon of California; grandchildren, Kimberly Burchette, Michael McKelvy, Andrew McKelvy, Jose Interiano-McKelvy, Zanida Carrigan, Jessyann Gregory, Rico McKelvy, Lydia McKelvy, Marcus McKelvy, Esabella McKelvy, Lyiam Galo, Alec Galo, and Daniel Galo; great-grandchildren, Noah Carrigan, and Oakley Burchette; brothers, Kevin McKelvy and wife, Sheryl of Missouri, and Allan McKelvy of Missouri; sister, Melinda Isley and husband, John of Missouri; brother-in-law, Emmett Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
