Jonnis E. McKee, longtime Ponca City resident, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 63.

Jonnis was born March 21, 1945 in Ponca City, the son of William Alfred McKee and Annie Mae (Williams) McKee. He attended the Ponca City Schools. He was married to Carrol Anderson on October 28, 1962 at Ponca City. He had been employed for 20 years as a route delivery man for 7up Bottling Company and for 10 years with Sullivan Trucking Co. , had worked for the Coke Company and also spent time doing mechanic work. In earlier years Jonnis helped coach his sons in baseball. His enjoyments included hunting, spending time with grandchildren and other family.

He is survived by his wife, Carrol; three sons, Tracy McKee and wife, Liesa, of Lamont, Ted McKee and wife, Paula, of Ponca City, and Troy McKee of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Emily Lawson of Ponca City; two brothers, Ron McKee and wife, Mary, Ponca City, and Charles McKee and wife, Nellie, Ponca City; one sister, Jan Devilbiss, Morris, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Hillary, Shelby, Andrew, Brandon, April and husband, Kyle Crowder, Kari Lawson and friend, Jacob Voegele; seven great grandchildren, Destiny, Kiersten, Mackenzie, Jonathan, Kimber, Tayton and Kayden; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony; two sisters, Bonnie and Alice McKee; one brother, Jimmy McKee.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Bigger presiding. The family will receive friends at 719 South 4th Street from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday following the memorial service.
