Joseph Charles McGuire was born in Prague, OK on Tuesday, October 4, 1932 and passed away on Monday, January 17, 2024 at the age of 91.
Joe was the son of Orlie “Joe” and Letha (Daniel) McGuire. He was a graduate of Ada High School and then went on to join the US Air Force. Joe became a Pilot with the Air Force and served 21 years before retiring as a Major. Nothing was much more beautiful to Joe than the American Flag or the sight of planes in the air. The one thing that was, was his wife Bessie Jo “Jody” (Barbee) McGuire, whom he married in 1971. After his retirement from the Air Force they moved to Prague and opened up Selinco TV Repair, which he owned and operated for many years. Once he fully retired, Joe and Jody spent their time camping and fishing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and also made jewelry. He was always so kind and generous, with a little mischievous side. He will be deeply missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Jody McGuire; parents Orlie “Joe” and Letha McGuire; son Jim McGuire; step-son Michael Nisbett; and sister Mariella Marsh.
Survivors include daughter Patricia Crawford and husband Dan; daughter Barbara McGuire; step-daughter Sharon Pitts and husband Bill; step-daughter Denise Kemble and husband Stuart; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
