Robert “Bob” Allan McGregor, a beloved father, grandfather passed away in his home June 1, 2024, at the age of 81. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on March 19, 1943.
Robert led a remarkable life filled with passion, dedication, and honor. Robert’s journey began with his service in the United States Army, where he served as a cook. His commitment to duty and his love for the culinary arts laid the foundation for his future endeavors. After completing his military service, Robert pursued his culinary dreams. In his early adulthood he honed his skills as a Head Chef in several 5-star restaurants in Chicago. His culinary career was also the path that led to the meeting of the love of his life, Lisa McGregor, while managing a chain of restaurants in Oklahoma.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Angus McGregor and Grace Agnes McGregor and wife Lisa McGregor. He is survived by his son, Tim McGregor, daughter-in-law, Erin McGregor and grandsons, Ian and Mason McGregor. His two grandsons, Ian and Mason, were the light of his life. A proud Grandfather attending every hockey game, Tae Kwon Do tournament, and school assembly throughout their childhood. His faithful love and support will be cherished always.
Robert was a loyal fan of Oklahoma State University (OSU), cheering on the Cowboys with unwavering enthusiasm. Whether it was football, basketball, or baseball, he proudly wore his orange and black. His love for cars was equally fervent. Growing up in Indiana, he inherited a deep appreciation for Indy car racing and stock car events. The roar of engines, the smell of gasoline, and the thrill of speed were all part of his cherished memories. Robert’s connection to these traditions was more than just a hobby—it was a bond shared with family, passed down through generations.
Robert’s warm smile, generous spirit, faith in God, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the moments he shared, the laughter he brought, and the joy he spread.
Memorial contributions can be made to a local food bank in Robert’s memory. Rest in peace, Robert “Bob” Allan McGregor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Oak Hills Freewill Baptist Church in Edmond. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
