Barbara Ann (Hamilton) McGill

September 18, 1941 ~ June 4, 2024

Barbara Ann McGill, 82, of Delaware, Oklahoma, left her earthly body and passed into eternal rest on June 4, 2024, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at The Journey Home. She was born on September 18, 1941, in Sheridan, Oregon, to Ivan Henry Hamilton and Buena Lee (Smith) Hamilton.

Barbara grew up in Sheridan, Oregon, graduating from high school from Sheridan High School. For many years, Barbara worked as a nurse at the Sheridan Care Center, tending and caring for patients for more than 25 years there, before retirement. On September 4, 1993, Barbara married the love of her life, Robert L. McGill, in Reno, Nevada. Barbara and Robert made their home in Delaware, Oklahoma, and shared many happy years together before Robert’s passing in 2002.

In her free time, Barbara enjoyed gardening and caring for her lawn. Barbara loved tending to her flower beds, vegetable gardens, and mowing her lawn. She was an excellent cook and was very fond of hosting family dinners on holidays and special occasions. She was also a huge nature and animal lover. When her eyes would allow, Barbara enjoyed doing puzzles. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Ivan and Buena Hamilton and her husband: Robert L. McGill.

Those left to cherish the memory of Barbara include her children: Mike McGill and wife, Ashley of Delaware, OK, and Edward McGill of Oregon; her 3 grandchildren: Alaina McGill, Brandi McGill, and Robert McGill, all of Delaware, OK; her sister: Doris Mendenhall of Oregon, along with other family members and friends.

No services are planned currently for Barbara. The family has entrusted Barbara’s final care to the staff of the Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata, OK. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemoriesnowata.com.
